2 weeks ago, i went to L&D with contractions, 8-10 minutes apart, they hooked me up to IVs and they pretty much went away on their own.
To sum it up to this point my OB told me to continue on with life as we know it.
Yesterday i had a HUGE mugussy green and dark brown reddish discharge into my pants (and sadly, i knew it was there cuz it rolled down my leg, eww tmi i know)
And then the cramping and contractions began.
So at around 2:00 My mother N law came to get me and took me into the L&D, where they hooked me up to the monitor- and reported that they weren't picking up contractions, so they checked my cervix, and did some tests on the mucsy discharges, and ran the fetal fibronectin test (had this test don't two weeks ago and came back negative), They found my cervix was at a loose 1 and still really long. She was still very concerned. So they adjusted my monitor slightly and were picking up mild contractions 3-4 minutes apart. Still very concerned. Waiting for my test results to come back, and when they do: No infection to cause to mucus. My fetal fibronectin was POSSITIVE.
So now i am very concerned. They gave me 3 pills to try and stop my contractions, which made me sick and dizzy and burn up.
They also gave me 1 shot in the hip of steroid to help mature the babies lungs, and i have to come back 24 hrs later to get another one.
But this morning i woke up vomitting and diarrhea, plus enough mucusy' discharge to fill my panties (they warned me it would be brownish reddish), But it was also greenish.
My questions and concerns:
1) Have you ever had a fetal fibronectin test come back positive and you go full term?
2) Basically have you ever been in this situation before. I have two beautiful healthy babies at home and am extremely scared.
Any advice is helpful, TIA.
