Well, holy crap.

So my due date that my (prior) OB had given me was June 25th which would have put me around 35w or so. She never listened to me about my conception/ test date, and choose instead to base me off a 28 day cycle (which I don't have- I had my IUD removed, got pregnant, so no LMP) After talking to my midwives and them doing some extra measurements, they ( Read more... )

I'm glad you got providers who will listen to you about your cycle, etc. but I am sure it must have been overwhelming to change dates by 2 weeks this late in the game

My OB actually listened to me about when I ovulated/conceived but if she hadn't my dates would have been off by 10 days and I thought that was a lot, but more than 2 weeks is mind-bending I'm sure.

I was pretty sure I was at least a week ahead, but it's still kinda shocking to have it confirmed.

I can only imagine having your dates jump so much so close to your due date!! At least when mine jumped two weeks, I was only 9w along (was supposedly 7w). I had the advantage of "feeling" farther along, too.

I'm glad you found a provider that's listening. And, hopefully, you've still got a week to adjust your mentality. (Could be more too!) It's not a long time, but at least you weren't in labour before figuring this out ;)

True. Also, I always felt like I was farther along than the OB thought, so it's not totally out of left field. Part of the shock I think is I kinda feel like I went from 10w to 37w with almost no in-between, this year went so fast. I've been having some braxton hicks, but no other signs of impending labor so I think I still have a few weeks at least. (Hopefully)

You have plenty of time. 40 weeks is the typical time most women give birth. Some first time mothers even go 41 or 42 weeks. I had my first son at exactly 40 weeks (June 25th actually). My second was 4 days early he was born at 39w5days.

That's what my midwives said- most first time mothers are between 41-42 weeks, so not to panic. :)
