so i posted a few days ago because i was worried about my belly not growing... well today at my midwife appointment, she said i had quite a jump in fundal height (i think she said it was about 37.5) which is totally weird and shocking to me! i've been measuring on time my entire pregnancy, and my weight has leveled off in the last few weeks. she poked around a bit more and said she is going to order me an ultrasound to see if it's because i have a higher level of amniotic fluid. she said she is not concerned because the baby's head is low in my pelvis, so there's no real worry about having the cord swoop down passed the head if my water breaks. she told me there's no need to worry, it's just something worth looking into and seeing what's up.
well after she left i wanted to know to know more about having a higher level of amniotic fluid so i stupidly googled it :( every site said in rare cases it can be because the baby has some kind of birth defect that's affecting its ability to swallow enough fluid. great, now i'm super worried.
has anyone gone for an ultrasound to investigate having a high level of amniotic fluid? what happened with your pregnancy/labor/birth? did you ever find out what the reason was for having a high level of fluid? at this point i'm just hoping it's because i've been drinking water constantly all day or something. i'm also hoping that because i'm so far along and the baby is so low that this isn't going to cause any complications because i am planning a home birth.
