Itchy!
So, today is my due date, and so far, no baby.
That's all fine and well, but on Saturday night, my hands and feet started to itch. I think I have developed the dreaded PUPPP.
It's really bad. I am itchy like crazy. I can't bear it.
My doctors have offered me two induction dates in case I don't go into labor naturally, and while I thought I preferred the later one, to give myself as much time as possible, I think I am going to request the earlier one, because existing like this is just not bearable.
Context: My doctors don't want to let me go more than a week past my due date, which would mean the latest they could schedule an induction would be 9/7. That might mean I'd be in the hospital over Rosh Hashana, which is sub-optimal if we're already planning things. The other choice is to schedule an induction this week, for Wednesday or Thursday. I was really hesitant to schedule an induction so soon after my due date, but this itching is just awful.
Augh. If you had PUPPP, what worked to relieve it? And how long did it take to go away after you delivered?
Edit: I just have to share. I've tried just about everything--gold bond lotion, cortizone gel, etc etc, and the thing that's worked the best is icing the rash.
And even better is soaking my feet in a bucket of cold water. It's the only relief I've had all day, and it feels sublime. So if you go through this, try it!
