i dont think they work exactly. i mean, just because you're squishing your uterus together, it doesn;t mean it'll shrink faster. Best way to shrink the uterus is by breastfeeding..

I just wanted to say that I feel your pain seriously. I was around 230 before I finally got my crap together last summer and lost about 50lbs via complete diet overhaul/exercise/persistence and ended up at about 180lbs. It was the first time in as long as I can remember that I'd been under 200 and I was sooo so so happy. Then that late Oct/early Nov I got pregnant and now at 32 weeks pregnant I am weighing in at about 217lbs. :[

I've heard not to bind your torso with ace bandages because they tighten when you exhale. Things like Spanx can't get any tighter than they should.

I bought an abdominal binder after my vaginal delivery because it felt like my abdominal contents were about to fall out. It was comfortable, but not much for reshaping.

i've been using a Belly Bandit for a week now, (had my baby May 22) and I feel the difference. If anything it helps with your self esteem. I really do feel more support though even in my back and that's a plus. I have a spanx too but I don't feel it would do the same job.
