rash on hands

Last night right before bed, the backs of my hands got very hot and itchy. From my wrist, up to my middle knuckle on most fingers. It looks like a sunburn, and kind of feels like one too.
When i first got it it was BAD. Itching like crazy, a little raised, and feeling both hot and cold at the same time. It stayed that way for an hour or so and then calmed enough for me to sleep. It was gone by morning. But now, evening again, it's come back. :/
I haven't tried any new products, nor have i been in the sun. I think i had a similar rash maybe 8 months ago, but on my face. Again, looked like a sunburn but wasn't. I wasn't pregnant at the time. They might not be related.
Anyway, i was just wondering if it sounded like anything that could be associated with pregnancy (or any other known cause?)? It's not really painful, kind of pin-pricky at times but that could just be my fibromyalgic nerves being skewed. It's mostly just ugly and annoying. It's dry, but i'm hesitant to put lotion on it in case it is some sort of irritation. :/ I have Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula lotion, which seems mild...
