Just thought I'd share the brightest part of my day.
Today, while purchasing my blood sugar test kit and sugar-free candy (due to my new gestational diabetes diagnosis), the cashier at Wal-Green's asked if I'd like to donate $1 to diabetes research.
FML ;)

The sugar-free candy I have is 22g of carbs per serving; they consider a serving to be 5 pieces, so one piece contains about 4.4 carbs. I only eat a piece or two a day, inbetween meals, so it's considered a "free" food (less than 5g); again, as long as I stick to the one or two pieces.
To cut a long rant short, I don't believe I have gestational diabetes anyway. I've been diagnosed as having it because, quote, they can't "prove" that I "don't" have it (I was unable to take the 3 hour glucose test and barely failed the 1 hour). My blood sugar levels taken at home are all within normal range (even a little on the low side), even the first day when I completely ignored the diet plan (not out of spite; simply because I hadn't made it to the grocery store and I had to eat).
