My husband and I went in for a "boutique" ultrasound yesterday to check the baby's development and find out the gender. (We're planning a homebirth, so we didn't have the traditional 20 week scan.) I thought we were having a girl, but when the tech told us it was a boy, I got all excited and teary-eyed. He looks SO MUCH like his older brother (my husband has a five-year-old son from a previous relationship) and just like his brother, hates to have his picture taken!
My husband says he told me we were having a boy, but I remember no such words coming out of his mouth. He's very glad he won't have to play dress up and tea party - however, I reminded him that there's no guarantee his son won't want to play "girlie" games, haha!
Now we just need to pick a name... we had one all set for a girl, but we haven't settled on a boy name!
See? Hiding! It's so hard to be the baby...
I love this one because you can see his ribs and spine... and also because the curve of his back reminds me of the way my husband's son sleeps, and the way he hunches his body when he's pouting and wants to get away from you!
I think this is my husband's favorite pic. Notice the middle finger on the right hand? He was flipping the nurse off because she kept jiggling him, trying to get him to show us his face. Yeah, our kid's got attitude.
