Hi there,
I just got back from my first appointment, and my doctor asked me if we would be interested in pre-natal screening for Downs Syndrome. My immediate reaction was not to bother with it, but I just talked to my husband about it and he seemed very certain that he wanted it done. My understanding is that the main factor is the age of the mother, and I'm fairly young, 23, so I'm not sure if this is something we should honestly be worried about.
My main concern is that we'll get the test results back and see and slight chance and that will give us just one more thing to worry about.
What are your thoughts? DId you have the screening? Would you if you were young, healthy, and had no prior family history at all?
