Would This Bother You?

X-posted - I'm sorry if you see this a bunch!

I'm 8w5d. I had my first OB visit on Tuesday. I haven't been released from my RE yet, but if I didn't take this appointment it would have been July before I could get in.

I saw the PA, not the OB, since she's out on vacation this week. That's fine with me, as I've always liked her for my gyn visits. But there were a lot of things that bothered me about this appointment. She suggested that I stop seeing the RE and just see her. She implied that they make a lot of decisions *based on avoiding lawsuits*. She implied that for any problem that arises, they use Pitocin. When asked about alternatives like prostaglandins or stripping membranes, she said, "Not that those things work." She did NOT recognize the risk of this intrauterine hematoma I have. She said that doulas can sometimes be a problem. She said that written birth plans are fine, but "They all end up saying the same thing." Since it's a 1-doctor practice, there would be a very small chance that she would actually deliver my baby, and her backups? The 7-doctor practice that was so HORRIBLE to me when I needed Rhogam! There are probably other things too, but this is the one I'm still shaking my head about:

During the pap/pelvic/culture, she removed a polyp from my cervix. Which she told me about AFTER she did it! I'm a little mortified that she wouldn't talk to me about it first, plus everything I've read says that they do not need to be removed, and doing so could introduce infection. Ever since then, I would have expected a little spotting, but the spotting I've had has been a strange color (greenish?), and has a foul odor. I know that vaginal infections are common during pregnancy, but I DIDN'T HAVE THIS before she removed that polyp, and now I do!

I guess my main concerns right now are: 1) Is there an infection? 2) If this OB and her staff are in the practice of doing things first and then talking to patients about them, how will it be any different during L&D? and 3) Should I be concerned that I also had a polyp removed last year, and everything I've read says that regrowth is uncommon?

doctor/midwife is an ass, first appointment, subchorionic hematoma, vaginal infections
