This week

This week has been ups and downs. I had my first appt with the midwife and I am due Sept. 16. I have a feeling that isn't right...I don't know why. I realize my last period was December 11, but my cycles are short, like 24 days, and I'm pretty sure I conceived Dec. 22 or 23. Does it matter if my due date is off by a day or two? No, of course not, ( Read more... )

I don't know your size or anything... but I know Old Navy was my best bet for clothes while I was pregnant. I didn't even buy their maternity clothes so much as their regular plus sized clothes. Target also had a few bigger things. Maybe you could check those out?

I hope things get better for you. =)

Seconded! I was a size 16 pre-pregnancy, and most of their x-large maternity things are very roomy on me. Also, JCPenney has several cute things. Stay away from Motherhood. Their stuff is cut way small and then shrinks terribly.

Good to know! Thanks. I'm a 16, too, although I'm starting to get a bit fuller already (thanks, boobs). I'll definitely check out Old Navy and JC Penny when I start looking for the real maternity stuff. Also good to know those places are on the cheaper side! I dont' plan on spending a lot of money on clothes I can only wear for a few months!

I've been able to get by with 6 pair of solid color pants, 2 pair of jeans, and various shirts. I found it helpful to buy mostly short sleeved and 3/4 sleeved shirts and just throw a cardigan over them on cool days. You won't need anything heavy unless you live in a really cold climate. I've even been able to wear my non-maternity coat, unbuttoned of course. I saw no need in buying a ton of clothes that I'd only be wearing for a few months.

8 pairs of pants is a lot! :O I have 2 pairs of pants that fit me atm :) And a skirt. In my second pregnancy I was working so I had two pairs of work-suitable pants and 1 pair of jeans.

FYI, they're doing 75% off clearance right this moment at old navy, i just came in the door from snagging a maternity top for $5 and a pair of belly panel jeans for $6. as a pre-pregnancy size 16 you could probably wear their maternity XL or XXL. not all stores carry maternity but they have a finder on their website, i've noticed that the newer stores do.
