[Maybe their eyes meet. Maybe they don't. It doesn't matter because Adrian has his focus shamelessly on this boy in his car who hides behind his sunglasses.]

[He's reasonably hard to miss, sitting there in his massive tank of a car with the radio blaring at near-maximum volume. For someone who dislikes people so much, Rudy certainly does have a knack for making himself the focus of attention.]

[Adrian approaches, the blaring radio hardly fazing him if his expression is any indication.]

Interesting taste.

[He might have to say that twice depending on the volume.]

[He sees Adrian coming about thirty seconds before he actually acknowledges it, the dark sunglasses helping to hide his eyes as he tracks the other man's movement across the parking lot. Though the music is certainly loud enough to force Adrian to say his greeting twice, Rudy does catch it the first time--half from the few snippets of sound that manage to penetrate the noise, and half from watching his face, as though he were only the words. It's another few seconds before he reaches for the dial and spins it down to a more manageable volume.]

I know.

Is it yours or being borrowed?

[Now that he can hear himself speak--not that Adrian couldn't deal with the noise, it's a matter of practicality. Also, he's definitely referring to the car.]

Both, depending on the sense of the word. The car is mine, but Jim Phelps drove it first.

[Though he doesn't smile, he does look quite pleased with himself.]

It was this or Bond's Aston Martin.

[Talk about proving his good taste. Adrian nods, pleasantly surprised by both references.]

No Lieutenant Bullitt?

[Finally, someone who appreciates his dorky methods of choosing vehicles.]

That one's reserved for times when I anticipate getting into a car chase. For school, I prefer the subtleties of espionage.

Very good point.

[He won't lean on the vehicle but the temptation is there.]

I'd almost take that as a statement of your intention not to cause trouble.

More accurately, it is a statement of my intention to avoid being caught if I do.

As far as I'm concerned I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

It doesn't get much more ordinary than a kid loitering in a parking lot, Mr...?

Veidt. Adrian Veidt.

[It doesn't get much more out of the ordinary than a middle aged man loitering in the same lot. Well actually Adrian's just passing through but who could resist?]

Speaking of out of the ordinary. That wouldn't happen to be Veidt as in Veidt Enterprises, would it?

[And now he looks very intrigued; almost to the point of showing expression on his face, though his stance and posture are still as relaxed as ever.]

You've heard of me.

[Small observation is small but anyone with attention to detail can see the smile in his eyes.]

I keep track of people worthy of knowing.

[And now he reaches over, offering his hand for a shake.]

Rudy Miller.
