Public service announcement:

It is not normal for a betta fish to shed its tail & fins in pieces. However, if it does do so, don't be alarmed if it eats the pieces. It's a carnivore after all. The problem is called, simply enough, "tail rot" and can be remedied with a treatment of melaluca (go figure).

Of course, I only know this because Gordon at Petsmart told me. Angus is on his third day of the week-long treatment, and already he seems better. I think maybe his eyes might have had some kind of disease as well, because he fights with his reflection like he used to do when we first got him. So, it seems his vision is better, now we're just waiting on his tail to grow back. Good times.

By the by, I promise I will update this more consistently once we have internet at our house. I wish I could say how long that will take, but it looks like the problem lies with the computer itself. Once I get my US tax return, we should be able to go shopping. :)
