I so very disapprove of Bangalore being renamed as "Bengaluru"!
And bull crap the 'u' vowel distinguishes our language as per the great Jnanpith Award winner, Mr.You-Are-A-Jobless-Freaku-Ananthmurthy!

The first time I heard 'Bangalore', it sounded more like bang-who?...or bang-ore? Not sure what brand recognition are you talking about! :)...There is even a place named 'Buffalo' in US, compared to which Bengalooru sounds ok! lol.
