I so very disapprove of Bangalore being renamed as "Bengaluru"!
And bull crap the 'u' vowel distinguishes our language as per the great Jnanpith Award winner, Mr.You-Are-A-Jobless-Freaku-Ananthmurthy!
The man also adds "By adding the ‘u,’ even words like chair-u and table-u become KannadaWTF? what was he even thinking when he made such a

nanna kannada, kannada abhimaana, kannadada itihasa, ithare is pretty good than what you think. nanage nimmantavarinda kannada lipi, adara durbalathe/shakthi kaliya bekaada avashyakathe illa yendu thilidiruthene.
incase you are calling English language as "britishara enjalu" ist not my problem. feel free to call it whatever you want. after all its a democratic country. and aa bhaashe nammade anta ee melina post athava yava comments kooda heluvudilla. i guess you gotta get your eye sight checked here. and next time you post such a thing lemme ask you to not assume things.
again another reminder for you. if you have a problem with TOI keep it to yourself. i dont have to repeat my comments especially for you.
nanna jaayemaana yene aagirali neevu adara bagge comment maaduva avashyakathe illa annisuttade nanage. it would be better if you talk about yourself and get to know yourself better before pointing your fingers at others.
hege 'bengalooru' (which is actually "bendakaalooru" FYI) thala thalantharadinda bandidiyo, haage kooda 'Bangalore'nu. now it has become so recognised that it is a brand. too bad if you cannot digest that fact.
50 varshagalu aythu neevellaa innu "enjilina" samudradinda horagade bandilla , ade sari andu kondiddara , eegalaadaru nidde gulamagiri annodanna bittu horage banni,
Dude! i dont think you are worth it to even reply to such a comment.
and i dont hold anything against the works of Mr Ananthamoorthy. he maybe a scholar. but the afore mentioned examples coming from such a great scholar is what am not too convinced about. he has let me down.
also, matthe heluvenu, nimmantha kannada abhimaanigalinda naanu yenu bariyodu , hege bariyodu annodannu helisi kolluva avashyakathe illa. keep your senseless suggestions to yourslef or show it off elsewhere.
and lemme ask you something. what exactly have you done towards kannada/karnataka that you question what i have done? for what joy are you taking false pride and calling yourself a kannada abhimaani? just coz you typed some four lines in kannada and supporting this senseless decision of the govt doesnt make you one.
also, it doesnt hurt to change with time and for good Mr. i hope you understand this. just by changing the city's name (which actually is not required at this point of time as i have replied to your earlier comment) doesnt take you back to the roots.
on a parting note i'd like to add that you better choose your words while making such comments. atleast come up with substantial arguments for what you have said. dont just pompously show off your kannada skills like no one else is upto your mark or something on those lines.
PS: also, modesty apart, i'd like to add that i have taught kids (standard 1 to 4) in schools in a village. and that included Kannada also. that is the least i can do for that language. hope this helps you to get out of your shell and be open for better changes.

When have you known India, or rather the people governing India, to be interested in something unless it were for its "vote bank" value. Ofcourse as a side-effect, if it were a good thing, then hey, more reason for them to try to get even more mileage out of it.
We, understand, what this was for what it was. Unfortunately, most of Karnataka won't.
So again, the answer to your last sentence is an final and conclusive, no.
