I have suspected it for quite some time and after recently confirming with an insider in the fashion industry, I would like to officially declare that SKINNY JEANS ARE OVER.

Thank you.

Instead of having to encounter you on every skinny/long legged female (quite a good look) skinny/long legged male (a hideous look) and every body type in between (sorry don't even bother) you will be but a quaint blip in our history, destined to be talked about on VH1's I love the 2000's.

Thought I admit I bought a pair well after the trend became mainstream, I would like to think that I was reasonable enough to see what I actually looked like in them, and that is not that good (unless paired with the right shirt that hid my body but didn't make me look pregnant). So they were buried in my closet. I am glad I escaped the tucking pants in boots trend. I remember seeing Lindsey Lohan do it in 2004? and thinking those crazy celebrities. Then I saw some girl in the quad wearing them (do you remember the quad?). I wanted to ask her if she was going to a horseriding lesson. From that day forth I vowed never to do that and I stuck to my promise, even though it got difficult with all those cute boots coming out.

Anyway I just purchased my first pair of flares in way too long. They are timid flares at most, as I am just sticking my toe in those waters. But I love them. I feel like the old Preetma, whoever she is, but with the wisdom to understand that fashion trends are malleable and fleeting.
