so i figure the math goes a little like this:
i bought the rpg i finished today in january. somewhere around 5 months to finish.
i own three more, and the boy has two i can steal.
therefore, assuming that i find things to do this summer other than video games, i should make plans to go back to japan in around 25 months, a little over 2 years, to buy more.
because rpgs where you only understand half of what's going on are so damn much cooler than the ones where you understand every word, that's why. because then you aren't wasting all the dozens of hours that go into playing them, you're studying and learning and crap instead.
because then, as the rest of your vocabulary dwindles, you realize that you could go on for hours talking about magic and dragons, and could randomly start speaking in any one of a dozen different dialects that the game characters use.
also because they make me happy ^_^
and this gives me an excuse to go back.
because i clearly needed one.
i need to stop having the sort of insomnia where i lie awake pondering if i should figure out how to go back to jcmu and take 4th year, because i know that i'm not going to have time for any more japanese in college, which means that if i somehow managed it i'd die of worky death.
probably would help in the prevention of that if i stopped playing japanese harry potter and the philosopher's stone all quiet-like in an attempt to lull me to sleep and stop the insomnia.
eh.
i shall switch to the opera theater's mysterious person tonight. in japanese. because if it's phantom of the opera in a foreign language, it must be italian, couldn't be japanese, and therefore my insomnia will take me in a different direction and i'll wake up wanting to go to italy. or just eat lots of pasta. probably the second choice.
my body apparently can't decide if i'm sick or not, and it's getting annoying. i think my forehead has a fever and a headache, but the rest of me is perfectly healthy. wouldn't be so much of a problem, but my brain lives in there, and i don't want to drive with my head all woozy.
also, laurel, one of the people who commented on your thingy about not having a place to live next year, the one who's in japan? her thing says she's in nagahama, which is literally a bike ride away from where i was.
anyway.
i think that's all.
parents claim that i'm getting up early so we can go take my grandmother to visit her sister, so that means it's time for insomnia again.
yay!

--*2 am edit:
the nifty thing is that when i finished, it gave me all the plot movies in a save file. this is good because it means i can watch them again and see if i catch any more words now that i know more of the ones used in this game than i did back when i started. also, because the music's pretty nice.
yay insomnia!
it's fun ^_^
wait... no.
ja.
