Something DISAPPOINTING this way comes...
Well, Sam got off work early today so we went and watched the 1 pm Harry Potter. First off, there is no good theater in lynchburg! There's a 4 screen nasty one in the mall, a 10 screen second run, and then an 8 screen old hideous thing that was showing Harry Potter. The best they had was DTS- dude, Manassas Cinemas after we redid it is even better!! Anyway, so we went...and were disappointed. Cuaron's vision was DEFINITELY different.. he did some cool things with the camera, added some extra humor, and the ending was fairly accurate to the book but I felt he missed a lot of the magic. Part of the fun and excitement of Harry Potter is the world and all the little stuff around it. Well, he cut out almost all of Hogsmeade, minus a few seconds at the Tavern and Honeydukes. He didn't explain who was Moony, Wormtail, Prongs, and Padfoot or how they came to be animagus. It just felt extremely rushed and uncoherent. Maybe it was because I've read the book so many damn times.. but I didn't mind that it wasn't page for page.. I just wish he would've allowed us to dive deeper into the world. I think if you mixed his use of humor, darkness, and his vision with Christopher Columbus's attention to detail, the movie would've been much better.

Anyway, nothing on TV tonight. Pretty blah day. All rainy and shit. I feel crappy so we're just chillin. Still haven't watched Return of the King. But, we need to. But, since I have no life and no friends down here, I'll return to randomly searching ebay!
