(no subject)
I start working at Pioneer this Thursday. It's a temp job for a year. Molecular genetics of corn...something with the flowering time gene. Similar to what I did last summer, but a bit more advanced. I'm sure I can do it, though I am a little nervous. I'm working with Pedro, who has a great sense of humor and I am looking forward to that. It's funny how I always end up at Pioneer, isn't it? Pedro thinks I'll end up liking it and go back to school for more genetics. Yeah right, Pedro. It's a job...not in my dream field, but a job to pass the time and save some money. I just want to take a guilt-free break from applying and sending resumes. I'm tired of rejection and working my butt off. So now I can relax for a couple months, earn some money, and I'll start applying for jobs around the holidays again.
My first paycheck will go to my parents though. I owe them $500 for those outrageous phone bills at the end of last semester. It was $1,000. Yikes. I do feel bad...so once that is paid off, I will finally be making some sort of income, which I am in dire need of.
Me and J are very on-off. We went to the fair last monday and had such an awesome time. Then we argued and ignored each other the rest of the week and I didn't see him until Saturday, when we argued some more. I'm giving up on him. And leaning towards expanding my possibility with his friend, Matt. I know Matt is interested. I just gotta make the move. I'm keeping my options open cuz I am starting at Pioneer, and there are always cute college boys there. We shall see, eh?
The fish are all good. I had those couple weeks where I was loosing fish out of one of my tanks. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. But no deaths have occured for about a week now. I think (fingers crossed) we are back on track. That shouldn't happen to me!
And congratulations Heather for getting a job also! I'm very happy for you! It sounds very fun and interesting...and that guy will be a great connection for you! Rock on!
