Little bit more than 12 hours from now I get to have the surgery. I've been so busy getting things ready for my sub at school that I haven't even had to think about it too much, which is nice. It's been a great distraction. I feel sorry for the poor guy - I got to talk to him Tuesday, as he was subbing for someone else, and it turns out he is an organist. This means chorus can proceed as planned. Otherwise, I've left him post-its and notes everywhere. He's either going to be really impressed or annoyed with my details.
On a better note, I was able to avoid doing a spring musical in place of the concert. We don't have the facilities or rehearsal time to allow for this to happen. I don't want to do anything to discourage any of the 85 kids in chorus from doing chorus in the future, so this works out well. The administration is still on a high from the winter concert that I was told that I have carte blanche for the spring one, which means I can bring in the music I really want to do. Good times.
