Ok, so my little brother Andrew is in the hospital. My family found out a few days ago that he has Crohns Disease, which is a chronic problem he will have to deal with his whole life. It is not as terrible as having cancer, but is basically a step or two down on the holy fucking shit this sucks ladder

My first thought is some classic mid 90s rock: Foo Fighters -The Color and the Shape, Pearl Jam - Ten, Weezer - Blue and Pinkerton, Soundgarden - Superunknown, Smashing Pumpkins etc etc

My second thought is some chill indie stuff: The Decemberists, Phoenix, Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, The Postal Service, Death Cab, Modest Mouse (but not one of the more yelling albums)

Also, I decided he needs David Bowie Hunky Dory and some Queen.

i recently discovered (via myspace, of all things) the astro puppees. which is mostly this chick named kelley ryan... her music is different, pretty cool. not like sarah and tori, more kind of... fun. heh.

my recommendation is soundgarden superunknown. i listened to it whenever i was sad in high school.
