I am Going to Be Rich on Memes

Mar 25, 2009 15:26

Look, we all know that the way to make money on the Internet is to capitalize on new memes. You guys have probably seen this new meme a dozen times already even though it just started this morning. To participate, you just post:

The code to get rid of all the twitter posts in your LJ Friends feed:

1. Go to Customize Journal Style
2. Choose Custom CSS from the menu on the left
3. Copy and paste the code below into the "Custom stylesheet" box

.loudtwitter { display: none!important }

4. Hit "Save Changes."

I don't pretend to understand what it is, or how it works, but I'm trying to pay for my serving and stuff, so the first step is to play along and get some of that residual "meme-heat" in hits and visits.

The second step is I made up a t-shirt design for people who are super into this meme and would wear a t-shirt about it because they love it so much:

Then I thought about the people who are victims of this meme and how I could also be wrangling money from them on this whole scheme:

But what about all the people who, like me, couldn't be bothered to give a shit? Well I've got them covered, too:

What's that? 100% market coverage of the target demographics. You're goddamn right it is.

UPDATE: Due to absurd demand and because I actually want to wear this shirt, the Non-Troversy Bear shirt is now an actual purchasable item. It's a RedBubble shirt, so it's not costing me anything to make, just to buy my own. Available in a wide variety of styles, sizes and colors. Also, it's not some sad CafePress iron-on that fades after a single wash.
