Sooooo much has happened since I last posted. The world has changed....or at least our country. I have heard about so many amazing instances of help and heroism. I have also heard some crazy and horrible things. I wish I could be there. Helping. One of my profs said that the condition they are living in is worse than most third world countries. I talked to someone that is not that far away from everything, but was not hit and she said that there is NO communication. I can't imagine. No information if help is coming. No information about who is the help. No clue whether your family knows you are safe. No clue if your family is safe. Katy said that one women had just given birth to a pre-me(sp?) that was just 2 pounds that had to stay in the hospital. The women was transplanted in Houston and was looking frantically (understandably) for her baby. One of the workers from the hospital happened to be there and was able to tell her that the baby was safe in San Antonio. Someone donated money so she and the dad could go be with the baby after they got checked out. Isn't it amazing how helpful people can be? Rev. Thom Shores said it right yesterday. I think everyone has underestimated the size of the American heart. I don't know anybody that is like "Aw too bad, Glad it didn't happen to me" Everyone has been like "What can I do to help? Can I do more?" Maybe I am wrong and too optomistic, but I really feel like in the end (which is probably a far time away) we may be a more united people. I'm just sad that it takes something like this to accomplish that.
