...its been a long time....So, heres a prayer request
Hey I have a prayer request to go out....
The Richardsons are a family i have known for a while now... I have played basketball with Andrew Richardson for a while now, and am pretty good friends with him. Well, a request was sent out in an email to people in our teen group requesting for a buddy for his younger brother at a camp called " Camp For All" which is a one week summer camp for kids with all kinds of Muscular Dystrophy. Christopher Richardson is about 12 years old, and cant really do much.... He is Andrews younger brother, I have seen him alot at basketball games and such , and have talked to him alot and gotten to know him, he is really a cooool guy, and pretty funny too *winks* ( not to mention he never stops cheering!!! lol)
Well, i signed up to be his buddy, and found out that actually kind of requested me, cuz he likes how i am or something ( its really a cool story, if i knew it, i would tell it...lol) And, something i thought was cool is, he knows im not perfect....For example, he was at the championship State Basketball game where i cussed really loud at a ref ( yeah...i know...."shut up stephen") and got a tech for it (duh)....He also knows that i have Asthma, and my mom says he really likes that, cuz he knows i have something wrong with me that i cant change either, and i can kind of sympathize with him....I almost started crying when i heard about it.... No one has ever said anything like that before...
Well, yesterday ( thursday) i went to the MDA center ( Muscular Dystrophy Association) to apply to be a counsellor at the camp ( they knew that if im going to be a counselor that i will be christophers counsellor, so that was a releif).... Well, they interviewed me, and three other guys....I would say it went really well, but i will find out in about 1 or 2 weeks wether i get to be a counselor or not.... Please pray that it goes well, and that if it is GODS WILL, that i get to be a counselor, that it works out... And that it would be a life changing experience for me....AND him...
This is something i really, REALLY want to do.... And thing is, its all about him at the camp, so i gotta give 100% to make sure he is having fun....And well, i love making sure people have fun, its like my hobby *big grin*..... I just REALLY REALLY want to be able to be a part of this, i know i would make an amzing friend, and not only have a great time, and him have a great time....But i also know that i would learn sooo much from him ( cuz really thats what happens...they dont really learn from us....We are the one learning from them....)

p.s. I also found out that you cant wear any "religious" tee's there at the camp, which i find really dumb, and christopher is pretty bumbed about it too, so im going to bring my Bible, and ask him to bring his...And, since there is no real Christian presence in the camp ( which is really sad i think) Im going to see about doing a short 10-15 minutes bible study every night with him, before bed, or devotion times or something....sooo i have to come up with something to talk about, hopefully God will lay something on my heart that woudl be just right for christopher...Please pray that the devotion thing works out....thanx
