what's going on with me
A lot has happened since the last time I posted. I finished the semester...not great...not even good for me...but finished. At least I'm done with classes (for undergrad) and it's on to student teaching. Last week I found out my placement. Starting August 30, I will be teaching in Ms. Bray's 4th grade class at Jemison Elementary. I really don't know much about the school, so we'll just have to see. I really want at least one ELL (ESL) student in the class though. That's what I requested because I want the practice since that's what I want to study in grad school. I'm kinda concerned that there won't be because they only have a few hispanics in the school (5-10) based on the statistics I looked up, but God knows where I need to be and I'll rest in that.
Next Tuesday, I will be leaving for Gulf Shores for the summer! I'll be working with the Gulf Coast Resort Ministries (Barefoot Believers) facilitating youth groups to do Kids Clubs, Beach Reach, and worship services on the beach. I'm really excited about this because I know this is where God is leading me, although I'm going to REALLY miss Michael. It looks like I'm not going to see him for 10 1/2-11 weeks. He's struggling with it even though he knows that that's where I'm supposed to be. I don't think it's really hit me yet because I'm on the high that I'm doing what God wants me to do for the summer.
Monday, I went and had my hair cut for locks of love. I had waited so long because I didn't want it to be super short when they cut off the 10 inches, and Michael didn't want me to get it cut. So, I told him I'd wait til right before I left for the summer. I'll try to post pictures later. Honestly, I really like it.
