Rule 2: [Voice/action]

Sep 01, 2010 22:03

Ceodore. We need to discuss your studies, I imagine your being here has interrupted them.

Edward, may I speak with you as well?

[Porom can be found at the welcome centre throughout the morning, doing what odd-jobs she's able to help with and directing anyone who has questions to someone who actually has a clue. In the early afternoon she excuses ( Read more... )

passive aggression is also white magic, studying is important, [action post], *ceodore, *terra, *rydia, this is really kind of petty, [voice post]

[ooc: Porom could have already heard about this. Actually, I had an idea where Rydia was likely KO'ed and since Porom was going to show up in the morning then anyway, she could have helped with the aftermath? If that sounds good to you.]

[Rydia's not in the best of moods, though she doesn't refrain from her work, nor take it out on anyone. She's just not as cheerful as usual, at least when she thinks no one's looking. Of course she'll answer questions of anyone Porom sends her way, but at some point, she will be taking a break in the kitchen area, a hand wrapped around a hot cup of tea.]

OOC: sounds good! So what should Porom know? Just that there was a fight and that Rydia came out of it worse for wear?

[Porom feels guilty about having to give Rydia extra work when she really doesn't need it but compared to potentially giving a new feather bad information it's the lesser of two evils. During a relatively calm moment while all that needs to be done is, until something new happens or someone new arrives, done she checks in on the summoner.]

How are you feeling?

[ooc: That and the guy who attacked is a man named Yuber and he's a demon and to call for Adell and the Blue Rogues if he ever shows up again. Rydia wouldn't have mentioned why Kain was there...at least, not yet.]

[Rydia was leaning against the counter, but upon hearing Porom, she straightens and glances up with a small smile.]

I'm...I'll be fine. A little tea and I'll be ready to tackle more New Feather questions again. It isn't too hectic for you out there, I hope?

[Porom shakes her head, smiling. She's fairly sure Rydia's faking at least a little of her strength but she trusts her to know her own limits and not be too proud or too worried about being a bother to ask if she does need anything.]

It's calmed down a little. I think there's been less over the last few days.

[Rydia nods, expecting as much.]

By the end of the week, I expect it will be quiet again. This isn't really a full-time operation--or at least, it wasn't, since it only happened once a month. If the cycle's returned, I expect that will be the case once more.

New people appear every month, then?

[Rydia nods, though hesitantly and then she explains why.]

Well, they did, like clockwork. At least, that was the case until May...and then people departed, but we didn't get any New Feathers to balance them out. I don't know why, and the Malnosso have never given a reason, at least as far as I'm aware. This is the first arrival period in months, so we'll see if the pattern sticks next month.

How strange. [She pauses in thought.] Maybe something kept them from bringing people over here. You did mention that they had enemies outside of the barrier.

That's right, but I'm not sure if that situation prevented anything. They recruited people in March, too, and at that point we were still getting new people. Then again, there could be something about the situation that they're not telling us. It wouldn't be the first time....

Do they often tell us much about the situation? Or just when they mean to draft us into fighting?

[Rydia sets down her tea and crosses her arms, thoughtful.]

We get a little advance warning, mostly so that we can ask for any special equipment for the terrain, and then they send us off relatively soon. I would say maybe a few days' warning at best? Though really, they've only done it twice so far and there's no guarantee that the 'rules' will always stay there same.

I see.

[She sighs, shaking her head.]

I'm sorry for all the questions. This place is still very new to me.

[She's quick to smile at that, a real smile.]

No, don't apologize! That's what I'm here for, right? Ask whatever you want, it's perfectly fine with me. Besides...I could use the distraction.

Thank you for all your help, then!

...How is Ceodore? I ran into him late last night and with the state he was in then I don't think I envy him this morning.

[Rydia rolls her eyes.]

I ran into him, too.

He's sober and not a toad anymore, so that's a step up.

[Yes, said with a straight face. Is she joking?]

[Porom responds to 'not a toad anymore' without missing a beat. It's not like it's a situation she isn't used to.]

Both of those are improvements, I suppose. You toaded him?
