Catching Up
I forgot to say how my date went!
I showed up at the Italian restaurant by the pier in Santa Monica a bit early. Traffic wasn't too bad and my sister told me that it was going to take less time than what mapquest had posted.
While I was waiting for him to show up, the hostess came up to me to say that I had a phone call at the front desk. Turns out that David, my date, was running late since he had to go past LAX. That was completely understandable since it was the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I thought that it was a very nice gesture that he called to tell me that. :)
He looked a little different than his pictures on eHarmony. Most of the pictures that he posted were with him wearing sunglasses so I thought that he looked a bit like Cheech Marin in the photos.
Dinner went well. I found that I was stuttering a bit! My nerves got the better of me. I usually don't trip over my words, but I found myself doing that on the phone and at the date. There were a few lulls in conversation, but overall, it felt pretty good.
When the waitor brought around the dessert tray, he ordered the sampler plate which had three different desserts. They were all good.. but my favorite had chocolate and rasperries in it.
I offered to pay for my portion of the dinner since it was our first date but he insisted on paying for it all.
By the time that we walked to the parking garage, the attendant said that the garage would be closing in a half hour. David wanted to walk around the pier but since it was close to 9pm, I said that it would be time to go home. I didn't notice that he was around my height until we got up to go to the cars, lol. We were sitting the entire time. We hugged and went our seperate ways.
I did call him after Thanksgiving to see if he wanted to get together another time. We'll see.
I'll have to update more later since I better get ready for work. :)
