For the past month, my right leg has been really bothering me again. I figured out what may have caused this... with the new department that I'm in, I'm now in a two story building and go up and down the stairs. The pain was so intolerable that I woke up with a throbbing leg.. eventhough I took two Tylenol PMs. I tried to go back to sleep but kept on waking up with the excrutiating pain in my thigh so I took a generic version of Vicodin. That didn't help one bit! I took a second tablet (although I wasn't supposed to) and finally I was able to get a bit of sleep.
When I woke up before the alarm clock, my leg started to ache all over again.
My friend has been trying to get me to go to an orthopaedic doctor and finally to get the rod out of my thigh.
I finally conceded and called a nurse with my healthcare provider. She told me to see my physician immediately.... and to set up another appointment with an orthopaedic doctor. She thinks that I may have phlebitis because I told her about my high white blood cell count... and I've felt like there was a hot spot on my thigh, too.
As soon as I hung up the phone, I called my physician and will see her this afternoon. Then I set up an appointment with the orthopaedic doctor, too.
Normally, I have a very high tolerance for pain.. but this has been unbearable!
Anyhow.. in the meantime, I ordered a foam pillow from Overstock.com and there was a link to check out the top 100 ordered CDs. It's called "Raising Sand" by Robert Plant (lead singer from Led Zeppelin) and Allison Krausse. The latter artist usually does bluegrass songs and has the sweetest sounding voice. I looked up the CD on Amazon and now I want to buy it! Here's the link if you're interested in hearing snippets of the songs...
