The One With The Update On Life

Well I should be getting ready for uni but instead I am sitting hear blogging. Nice nah! Anyways life is all same and different too at the same time. Exams are on the corner. At this time I recall my highschool teachers advice which she always gave us during end of semester stress mania. Which was that if you don't put in 110% you will not enjoy your holidays as much. I full heartedly agree as it goes with my frame of mind perfectly. I know I will feel guilty and be grumpy all throughout semester break if I know in my heart I could have done better. Even if I got passes I would sit there pondering that I could have easily scored a credit, distinction or above.

Speaking of grades I got the results for my two essay last week. Both results were suprises and shocks in the nicest way possible. For "Law Society and Change" I had written on the Pell case and was utterly stunned when I got a "High Distinction" for it!! It was 88%! Totally unexpected since I was very much lost writing this one. The second one which was for "Legal Concepts" and was written on the subject of the defences of autonomy and insanity in serious criminal offences, I scored a distinction for this one which is like 83% :D 2% of a HD but still quite great!! So yes I am utterly satisfied at how my law subjects are going.

Can't say same about business ones. Struggling but surviving with statistics. Getting utterly frustrated with accounting. Grr...why do I have to do a double degree why! Cannot stand business. Its stupid and doesn't make sense. I am a lawyer at heart so doing business is just painful but my parents will not let me dropit since they thing it will enhance my job prospects in higher positions upon graduation which is probably true but I wish to be stubborn.

Well apart from the banner no creation is in site. I just visited Laura and Sheila's Lj and upon looking at their work don't think I'll ever be creating! Why are these girls so creative and talented! Ahh. Maybe I will squeeze out some creativity when the stress of uni is not plaguing me.

Apart from that been avidly writing for the magazine. Lots of interviews coming up, reviewing Roadside Romeo this friday and have quite a few feature articles in the making including one about south cinema! Yay! So will post links here for easy access.

As for movies Drona was the last one I saw. for the past couple of days been watching old movies. Watched Bawarachi which stars Rajesh Khanna and Jaya Bhaduri. Nice movie, highly recommended. Hrishikesh Mukherji was a genius. His work reminds me of Shyam Benegal's work which was the recent release Welcome To Sajjanpur.

Looking forward to Dostana even if its so overdone with makeup, outfits and the whole Karan-touch. But the actors are great and the story is interesting so i'll shut my eyes tight and just concentrate on not getting annnoyed with the pretenciousness that will be before me in terms of art design, costume, makeup etc. Also looking forward to Paathshala but I truly hope reema's huntch is true and that the bad dubbing for Ayesha and Shahid is simply for the fact that both actors are yet to dub, if thats not the case I swear I will scream and sue the makers!! Also curious to see Heroes.

Also read the sad news that Ayesha Takia will quit acting this December after her wedding. Ahh! So dissapointed. She is one of the few I can stand. At the moment its just Priyanka and Amrita. and Diya whenever she is on screen. Konkona goes without saying and Rani and Preity are grandma's and need to show me they can act like they usedt o or just retire full stop.

Anyways now I really should get ready. Ahhh the gas ran out so I have to use cold water for a shower! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Okay going to face my deepest darkest enemy, a cold shower in the morning!!!
