Oh, I really loved this chapter, with the book theme running throughout.
Imogen wrinkled her nose. "You're going to drink it?"
"No, we're going to bathe in it," James replied. "Ceremonial ablutions. Cleanse the soul and all that. And after we're all squeaky clean, we're going to sit down for tea and crumpets--"
"--and knit mittens for homeless Muggles," Sirius finished. "We do this every weekend, you know. It's a humanitarian effort."
Ha! James and Sirius finishing each other's sentences, Sirius's loyal book, Remus having it out with the organ--all brilliant.
"I am implying that you are chicken. It's a metaphor -- or something. You. Chicken. Bock." Heh.
The journey from Sirius pining after comely, bookish Mr. Moony, stranded, snogless amid the Erumpents on a Thursday afternoon to humming daring-do (derring-do?) music under his breath to the quill-dust taste of Remus on a Thursday is just too lovely.
And the last section is heartbreaking, with Remus absolutely radiating hurt but carrying on, as he does (and oh, Gardenia Noble strikes again!). I ♥ Remus so much!!
Really, there's just SO much to love throughout this! It's layered and clever and I love getting lost in it. :)
