*Wingblade sits at the desk in Steadfast's quarters, materials spread all around her. Quietly, she works with a purple metal fabric, shaping and securing it. In the center of the long strip she sets a small metal plaque, etched with "Squirmy" in larger letters, and in smaller letters underneath, "Owned by Wingblade". Soon she's completed a collar,

Squirmy has gotten in the habit of checking on the pastel blue Solid now and then--she almost always has a treat for him.

After a while, he pops out of the air vent and runs down Steadfast's intakes to Wingblade.

"Neek?" he says hopefully.

Squirmy! *Wingblade grins hugely.* I've got some suprises for you. *She holds out the collar for him to sniff, reaching into her subspace pocket for a treat.*

Squirmy sniffs obligingly at the collar and nibbles on it experimentally. His ears flick forward, his attention on whatever she's reaching for...

*Wingblade grins and pulls out the treat, giving it to him before putting the collar around his neck, making sure it's not tight on him. She then picks him up, scritching behind his ear.* Mama! Take the image now! *huge grin*

Squirmy gives her a sulky look like he's not too sure about this collar idea (next, you'll insist he wear a suit and tie to work...), but decides that he'll put up with it while Wingblade scritches him.

Steadfast already had a holoimager out, and quicky takes a picture of Squirmy, and another just to make sure she's captured the moment. Only then does she take the time to watch the yellow creature's reaction. If that ear position is any indication, Squirmy doesn't seem to like that collar too much, but he doesn't seem in acute distress either, so Steadfast doesn't interfere, indulging Wingblade for now.

*Wingblade smiles, and gives Squirmy another treat before going back to giving him scritches* Don't worry, Squirmy. I'll take it off you soon. *She looks up at Steadfast, the huge grin still on her face.* Can we go show Strata, while he's still letting me keep it on him?

Steadfast smiles. "We can." What, is she supposed to say 'no' while Wingblade is having so much fun?

[skitterfluff]

Squirmy settled down, indulgently permitting Wingblade to play with him while he nibbled on the bird she'd given him.

*Wingblade continues to scritch Squirmy and purrs softly to further soothe him.*

Yay! I'll comm Strata, find out where she is.

//Strata? Where are you? I've got something to show you!//

// I'm in the repair bay in the base. Be careful, and don't burst in; I'm working on someone. Can you bring Steadfast with you? He would like to report in to the base commander, // Strata asks.

//Alright.// *Wingblade giggles over the comm. //As if Mama would let me go alone!//

*She then grins at Steadfast.* Strata's in the medbay! She's workin' on someone in there, an' says he wants to report to the base commander.

*Through it all, she keeps on scritching Squirmy.*

"Then what are you waiting for, let's go!" Steadfast says, and starts leading Wingblade and Squirmy (if he'll remain on Wingblade's arm for that long) to the Medbay.

Squirmy runs up Wingblade's arm and hangs on to one of her air intakes as she gets up and starts moving. His head peeps out from behind the air intake, almost next to Wingblade's own face.
