snow has a way of making it sink in that i live here. maybe it's because one typically travels in better weather and new sights and sounds of new places usually goes hand in hand with sunshine and clear streets. observing how a city copes with half a foot of snow received overnight makes you feel like you are part of it. the snow you are walking through on your way to work is the same snow that fills the tracks of the streetcars, and the streetcars still run, taking people to work or where ever it is they need to be on a friday morning.
