Oh yes, I'll definitely keep watching, as I bought the DVD. ;-D There's a lot happening and it is exciting indeed, so I do like this season, too. Maybe my not-quite-there-enthusiasm is because of all the heartbreak of Catherine's situation.

Yep, I did refer to Catherine's lady in waiting indeed. Come on, one woman who can resist men! ;-) Heh, Cranmer hasn't annoyed me much yet, but I thought there was a strange duality in his character - first they show him as this stuttering, almost shy guy who smuggles his secret wife into the country, and then suddenly they show him bellowing angrily at the priests like a bigot...maybe I missed something during a bathroom break! :-D

Btw, can I ask, why do you like Mary the best? I don't know that much about her, just some random facts like her alleged nickname (which I know can be disputed) and the fact that she tried to turn England back to Catholicism and that she married Philip II of Spain, whom she supposedly loved. The portrayal of her on the big screen that sticks the best to my mind is the one in "Elizabeth", where she's played by Kathy Burke. What did you think of it?

Seriously! I was all like, "yay for her dissing Wyatt and wanting to wait until marriage/be a bride of christ!" only for her to sleep with him anyway--on the way to MASS no less! *rolleyes*

ROFL! Yeah he does do that on the show, and BOTH sides of him annoy me equally! :p The truth was that he was a relatively modest guy, but a bigot nonetheless in religion as so many were in those days, sadly. But such were the times....

I'm not a Cranmer fan historically anyway, but I'm not a Cromwell fan either and yet love James Frain's portrayal by the end. And I ADORE Cranmer as played by Bernard Hepton in the BBC miniseries (both Six Wives AND Elizabeth R and "Henry VIII and His Six Wives"--they loved him so much they kept bringing him back as Cranmer, lol!)--he brings such integrity to the role, and looks so much like the actual Cranmer it's scary--and every time he appears on screen I want to hug him. So it's def. the actor Hans Matheson and his portrayal (or possibly the way he's written here as well) that annoy me...:p

Look at Hepton for yourself in this clip from 6:10-7:36:

And then look at this painting of Cranmer:

Freaky, isn't it?!
