The first is for
kikachan. It's neither of the one-shots I've promised, but it's inspired from "Bad Boyfriend" (sorta). Warnings for
15minuteficlets's word #174.
Summary: Subaru and Kamui go out for tea. PG. But Seishirou/Subaru and Fuuma/Kamui implications. Like, duh! XD
Bad Boyfriend
Subaru poured more sugar into his tea. Stirred it about. Took a sip.
And then regarded the teenager before him.
“Kamui,” he began. He stopped. Took a deep breath. “Kamui, I’m not sure what you mean.”
Kamui looked down at his own tea mug. They could have been any two friends, out for English-style tea in the foreign section of the bluff overlooking Yokohama. Kamui remembered reading somewhere that the bluff had once been bigger. Before the 1923 earthquakes.
They weren’t just any two friends. And this wasn’t just a social outing.
Somehow, this gave Kamui courage. “Subaru,” he said. “You’ve been Within my heart. I’ve seen yours.”
Subaru took another sip of tea.
“You know what I mean.”
“I know what you mean.” Subaru’s voice was quiet as he admitted it. And here he gulped another little bit of tea. “It’s not that simple.”
“I know it’s not simple.” Kamui tried the tea. He tried not to make a face. “But…” He trailed off as he reached for the sugar bowl and pulled it towards him.
“I don’t know what to tell you,” Subaru said. “Other than I can’t tell you what you need to hear.”
Kamui’s eyes shot to Subaru’s face for the first time throughout their conversation. “I want my old life back,” he said. “I want the old Fuuma back. But most of all, I want to stop loving the new one.”
Subaru stared at him with too-old eyes. He gave a staccato-brief laugh. And took another sip of tea.
