1. When did you first know you loved Lucas? Was he born yet? Did it happen all at once, or gradually, or some of both?
Oh, I loved him right away. All my life I've wanted to be a mother, and when I found out I was going to be, I loved the little embryo in my womb. I remember at 21 weeks, he got some hiccups in utero, and it was the first time I'd felt such strong movement. I cried then, part in panic because soon I'd have a little baby who relied solely on me for everything, and part in joy because he was really there, and I knew then there would be solid reminders for the rest of my pregnancy. When he was born, I loved that little tiny person from the moment I first set my eyes on him.
2. What things do you love about Seattle?
Everything. My friends are there. It was the first place that ever felt like home. I found myself there, figured out who I was, and who I wanted to become. Seattle shaped me. I love the restaurants and bars and museums and the Science Center, the parks, the gardens. I just love Seattle.
3. How did you decide to leave WA?
Love. Scott was offered a job in Alabama and he told me he wouldn't take it unless I would come with him and be his wife. Scott is my soul mate, and I couldn't bear to live without him any longer, so the decision was an easy one to make. I haven't regretted it for one second.
4. What kinds of food do you like to cook?
I love to cook lots of things. My mother's stacked enchiladas, eggplant Parmesan, lasagna... I love to cook all my favorite foods, I love to cook for friends and family. The list is endless.
5. Who is your oldest friend that you still keep in touch with?
I've known my friend Gabe since I was 9 years old. There were times where we wouldn't talk for a few months or a year (he's several years older than me and went off to the Navy when I was a kid), but we've always found one another and stayed close.
