(no subject)
Wow, it's been a while. Huh. I feel like I should update everything that's gone on, but basically it boils down to working, knitting, watching hockey and actually reading books. Nothing too interesting.
...lies! I actually took my mom to the Assiniboine Park Zoo on Good Friday because it was open and the weather was nice. We packed a lunch and looked at all the animals. The capybara is my soul-twin. Mom fell in love with the tiger who was pacing everywhere, and then she got very concerned thinking that a rabbit had gotten into the tiger enclosure, but it was just running around outside of it like an asshole. We both walked more than we were used to and got more sun than we probably should have. And then two days later, it snowed. lolWinnipeg.
I have been knitting sweaters- I finished a lopi sweater last week but I still need to steek it and put in a zipper and frankly that feels like way too much work for something I won't end up wearing for 6 months or so. I started the Beatnik sweater but it has a lot of cables so it's going very slowly, especially because I'm sick right now and can't concentrate very much.
Yeah. I had to leave work early on Monday and take today off and I am feeling a lot better, but I want to feel even better before teaching tomorrow night so I'm still drinking all the water and taking naps and taking pills and I feel much better than even this morning, but I know in the morning I'll feel like crap again until I baby myself better. I don't get sick very often anymore, but man. I'm such a wuss.
It didn't hit me, however, that my cold would affect watching the playoffs until I realized 1) I WON'T BE ABLE TO HAVE A BEER TONIGHT because a) sick and b) i haven't been able to go out and get any, and this is one thing mom won't pick up for me right now (understandable), and 2) I'LL PROBABLY FALL ASLEEP BEFORE THE SECOND PERIOD OF VAN/LA.
I have Nashville winning the Stanley Cup. Filling out my brackets while sick probably wasn't the smartest idea, but whatever.
Jeff Petry and Jim Slater are going to represent the US at worlds. I want them to be MSU buddies, and hang out and tweet at their teammates or something. IDK.
