We're in the middle of the hottest heatwave in the 2 years I've been here. It's way too hot!
But everything is a celebration this month, not that I need a reason to drink, but lots to celebrate, being in europe, and having a great flat to live in, plus great weather.
Kafka Trail. 13th July
This was Kafka day, following the trail around Prague in search of Kafka history was a lot of fun. It was interesting to visit his birthplace in Old town, which is now the exposition info shop. We also visited his grave in the Jewish cemetery to pay homage to a legend. The German school he went to is on Masna near Bohemia Bagel. We've yet to visit the Kafka museum this week.
Blue Valentines. Globe. 14th July.
I saw the Blue Valentines comeback gig at the Globe and it was awesome to hear their music again. I'm liking Tom Waits music more and more. Aileen was fantastic singing as always, I'm so glad to have them all back together as a group. Mark and Chud seem better than ever. If you're in Prague check out the Blue Valentines on 28th July at Popo.
Karlstejn 16th July.
Finally got to see Karlstejn and its truly a beautiful castle! It's a quiet village well away from tourists and the bustle of Prague. Only takes 45 minutes by train so it can be done in an afternoon. Took lots of pictures which I'll upload soon.
I have yet to visit Cesky Krumlov and Telc as well as Cesky Raj in the next week.
Prague. 17th July.
It was too hot to do much today, 94F, so we ventured as far as coffee heaven for an iced latte in cool air conditioned lounge, nice.
Hezky den!
