Hey, I was thinking last night that maybe you should submit a feminist fanfiction writing workshop and adapt some of the ideas from those feminist fanfiction writing challenges that have been floating around. That might be a really good thing, especially since we have lots of writers/aspiring writers coming.

And of course anything you like. What are you thinking about doing? :)

Well, we are definitely short on fandom-y, fanfiction-y things. I'd love someone to come in and talk about fandom as a female space and/or female fans struggling (or not even trying) to love female books/characters (that discussion that's been floating around lately, for example, about how guys (Joss Whedon, the SPN guys, etc.) get crazy fangirl geek cred and girls don't, really). I'm having trouble articulating it, but the fandom POV is really lacking in what we've got and you're enormously articulate about feminist issues in fandom.

More traditionally, hmmm. Perhaps female characters that are surprisingly feminist (Mae?!), or annoyingly not. I'd happily donate my thoughts on "romanticizing the "other" in YA fantasy lit" if you'd like to do that. *thinks* What have you really enjoyed or really hated lately?
