1) I think the Olympics should be an annual thing because I love them to bits. Notably, I still do not love Bob Costas's NBC coverage to bits; more sports, less yapping, Bob. Also, less basketball, more archery.
2) My running plan yesterday was interrupted by evacuation. I stood on my balcony and watched a tornado form on the other side of the highway, about a mile away, and decided that perhaps a third-floor apartment was not the place to be. I collected a Marbles and we went west to wait out the tornados. (We only saw two of the three, though. There was another northeast of us that we didn't see.)
Side note: My city is apparently idiotic, since there were no tornado sirens. I grew up in tornado alley, where the merest hint of cloud rotation triggers the sirens for about forty miles. Boo, Colorado.
3) The Democratic National Convention is here and people seem surprised that traffic and transportation downtown are interrupted and Denver imported extra police. 8-| I had the opportunity to go, but ugh.
4) Especially because, dude, Biden? Fucking Biden who doesn't know when to shut his mouth? Are you kidding? 8-|
5) Next week is football season, yay. Let us hope that Kirk Herbstreit has gotten rid of his slight puffiness and slight orange-ness this year.
6) New subordinate Natalie starts right about now. *waits for HR to bring her over*
7) I have very much enjoyed making Glorious China jokes in the tradition of the cultural revolution. I suspect I don't get to do this for the Vancouver or London Olympics, and that makes me sad. Also, the London portion of the closing ceremonies was pretty badly conceived from beginning to end. More athletes, less crappy caterwauling, plz.
8) Terminus has taken over my house. I think Terminus should get itself a storage unit and get its crap off my stairs and out of my garage because I feel like I'm living in an AV warehouse. :))
9) I did not mail stuff to those expecting it on Saturday. Instead, I took my car in since its warranty expired on Saturday, and had a lot of work done that was not covered by the warranty.
10) I have The Dragon Heir, which makes me a very happy girl. I also have a bunch of other books that I'm not sure I want to read, but if one is going to run cons about more than Potter, one should read more than Potter. ;)
