I've just heard that legendary UK games composer
Richard Joseph has died recently from lung cancer aged 53. Richard started out, like many UK games music composers, on the Commodore 64 in the early 80s, where he made many classic games tunes before moving onto the Amiga where he composed well known tunes and sound design for the likes of Renegade and Sensible, working on the majority of their most popular games(See
Mobygames profile for more info).
He has since been very active and well liked person on the UK retro games scene and only last year remade a version of his ingame theme from The Chaos Engine for the Immortal 3 compilation.
If you knew Amiga games, you knew Richard's work. He'll be sadly missed. RIP.
