Doctor Who Meme Day 01
So aimeekitty has been doing this Doctor Who meme, and I thought I'd snag it myself! I love reading what she has to say about it, and it should serve as a reminder to post!
And maybe some of you will snag it! I'd love to read your thoughts too :D
So!
I have a lot of little pithy quotes I love from the old series, but of the new one a few really stand out.
I love in Rose, the first episode of the new series, when the Doctor is explaining who he is:
Rose: Who are you?
The Doctor: Do you know like we were sayin'? About the Earth revolving?
It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standin' still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinnin' at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're fallin' through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go...
That's who I am.
When you read it, it sounds so cheesy, but he delivers is so well. I just LOVE the scene:
