Gallifrey progress

A'ight!
In between being way too sick than is healthy (ahhaha... uh...) I got some sewing stuff done.
I'm almost ready for Gallifrey.

Both these things will be worn by kiralikescake, details and more photos under the cuts.

Actually I pretty much finished this December 28, but I never got around to posting. All that's left is to sewing the shoulder pads in.

It's soooo boxy. When I started, I thought, "heya it's a box *cuts out rectangles*" then as I was making it and trying it on I was like "Aaaah it's so boxy! D:"
I ended up taking it in a little bit, and it is meant to be boxy so I'm not so bothered anymore.

We weren't sure if it was a really dark grey, or blue, or if it was black. I went black because I thought that'd be really elegant with the green. Originally, because the animation in this is so bad, I wanted to jazz it up, make it like what it would really be. So the fabric and the braid and the buttons reflect that, but I think the idea got lost somewhere because... BOX.

Anyway, the shiny shiny lining is meant to reflect Three, and I love it.
Two inside pockets because I love pockets (they are deep because they're Time Lord pockets). I almost put a third one in for good measure, but I was getting tired.
Not entirely pleased with how the collar came out, originally I had one layer of quilting batting and I thought it didn't look full enough so went with two, and now it's all together and I'm thinking it's a little on the puffy side D:

Uuuhm... the end.

No reference! Because... then it'll be really obvious where I deviated.
I am pleased to say though, that every deviation was intentional! (Except one, but I'll not say what)

Okay!
I loved working with this fabric. It has a wonderful weight, and holds shape well, and feels nice. I'm kind of thinking I need a coat made out of this stuff myself. In eggplant or something.

Oh, here's what's not done: the sleeves aren't hemmed, want to do that with kiralikescake present, I could get away with doing it myself but it'll look that much better if I wait. The back vent (which I took a picture of and didn't really show and I'm too lazy to take another one) has a row of buttons yeah, but the button holes aren't in because I want to confer with kiralikescake about the number. I went with four, because that's how many buttons I had left 8D

Righto, two inside pockets, in the burnt orange (also deep because they are Time Lord pockets). I think I'm getting the hang of this double welt pocket thing 8D;;;
Two outside pockets, shown.

The gaping in the back I think is because this is really fitted to kiralikescake, I took some pictures of me wearing it thinking it might look better/hang nicer on a person, but yeah.

Patterning would be based off of this blazer (Desire), lengthened accordingly and the seams moved around a bit.
Tennant, as we know, is a pole, so we wanted it to hang really straight in the front, but be fit of course, so the darts in the front are just because he has darts in the front, and all the fit is in the side darts, side seam, and back darts.

And I can't think of anything else to say.

Oh, well, I loathe top stitching.

Next up, the world The Master.
