"I'm sorry!" he said instantly.
His first instinct was always to apologize for the way he looked.

Yet she didn't look afraid. Fear eluded her, too, now. She was tired, hungry and tired, in a way that superceded all physical sense.

It was the easiest answer simply because it was the closest to the truth. His birth parents had had the foresight to abandon him along the Alps. Only one woman, the woman who had raised him, ever told him he was human. He didn't know whether he was human or not. Some days, he felt as though he was. Other days...not so much.
"I am Kurt. I'm sorry if I alarmed you."

He sits with his elbow on the table. How long are they going to be stuck here? Warren needs some pencils and paper. He can't go for long without sketching...something. Even his tattoo inks. He'd take any of those right now.
Space is supposed to be breathtaking. This ship's got the mysterious part down pat, but Warren just feels so restless all of a sudden.

Reluctantly, Rosalie picked up a head of cauliflower with her fork. She put it into her mouth and started chewing. Most of her taste buds were dead; she couldn't taste the vegetable in her mouth, even as her saliva broke it down. She swallowed. So far, so good. She almost rejoiced in that, something so simple as being able to eat real, human food.
She sat hunched over, away from the dim streams of light pouring from the decrepit ceiling.

Of course, he had never seen mashed potatoes before so he spent a good deal of time staring at the instant food regardless.
