[A little purple unicorn pony appears near the bottom of the viewscreen, just tall enough to get her head in frame. She isn't looking right at the screen just yet, but rather seems to be fiddling with buttons by way of her glowing horn.]
So this just turns on like this, and the light means it's going, so... [Looks at the screen at last.] Oh! Does that mean everypony is getting this right now? Oops, heheh, sorry if this is disturbing anyone, then!
I guess since I'm here, I should introduce myself. [Clears throat.] My name is Twilight Sparkle, from Ponyville, Equestria. Uh, Planet Earth, I guess should say too. Though, the others I've met from Earth so far don't seem to have heard of Equestria. Has anyone? And for that matter, are there any other ponies here? It's really starting to freak me out, being the only one so far. Not that all you humans are bad so far, of course! [Waves a hoof reassuringly.] But, well, you know how it goes, feeling out of place sometimes, maybe a little homesick...
[A silence here as Twilight becomes lost in her thoughts and feelings for a few moments.]
[Faint sigh. She shakes her head, forcing herself to smile a little.] ...Anyway, you may all be strange-looking to me, and I to all of you in turn. But everyone I've met has been nice so far, so I think we can all get along. [Small laugh.] I mean, we kind of have to in such a small space, right?
So, if anyone needs help with anything a unicorn can do, let me know. I know a lot of magic, and I'd be happy to be of assistance. Even if you just need a friend? I can help with that too. Trust me, I've learned firsthand: friendship can be the one thing that gets everypony through their problems in the end.
Oh, and one more thing: has anyone seen any of the damage firsthand yet? I'm trying to figure out if it could have been caused by a comet or asteroid strike, maybe.
