My aunt Nancy is a nurse in southern Illinois. My Dad said she was telling him that she recently had her first patient with gallbladder cancer (what my Mom had). The woman has had it for 10 months, is in excruciating pain and will die.
We were always relieved my Mom was only sick for nine weeks, and didn't suffer nearly as much as she could have. My aunt's story just confirms that even more. Why not have nine relatively good weeks, instead of 10 miserable months, with the outcome always the same?
