This has been one of the better weekends in recent memory. Friday night I went to
Irish Fest with
jeeshman and had a great time, which included drinking a little too much and failing his unscientific sobriety test (thankfully he was driving us home).
Yesterday was probably the dullest day, because I did laundry at my Dad's (which won't be happening after Aug. 29, as he finally sold the house and will be moving about 40 miles away from me). He and I watched
"Track of the Moon Beast" and laughed.
Then Sunday (today), I went back to Irish Fest with my friend Roy. It was a gorgeous day (but hotter than Dutch love), so I was able to take some pics.
Here's one of a woman wearing an odd hat and walking with a wooden stick.
Roy loves to eat, and here he is finishing his potato with irish stew (as well as mine, which is off in the corner waiting for him to attack it).
Then he convinced me to go up in the Skyglide, a ski-slope like ride that goes over the entire park (I am somewhat afraid of heights). Here we are "taking off".
Here's a shot I took from the Skyglide, where you can get a pretty good view of the lake and the park below.
And when we got on the ground, I took some pics right at the foot of Lake Michigan.
(Discovery World and the Calatrava are in the distance...isn't Milwaukee pretty in the summer? I think so.)
(Here are some men rowing in the lake. I assume they were Irish in some capacity.)
(This is the other side of the park, where the Midway with all the rides used to be. Thankfully they took those rickety things down.)
So, in a photo nutshell, that was my weekend. Hope my week is just as good! (Isn't my upbeat and positive attitude just making you sick? I know, it's a new thing for me, too. Hope it sticks around.)
