Not just a name.

We all know how Yuuta was referred to as Otouto-kun when he'd initially attended Seigaku, which then prompted him to move far far away (to St. Rudolph); so that he wouldn't be thought of as his older brother's shadow anymore. But here's my take on his character.

Having come from such an adoring family (with older siblings who doted on him), one would have thought that Yuuta would be every bit as congenial, pleasant and the like. However, you couldn't have been more wrong. Yuuta is, in fact, quite brash in personality, often letting his actions speak for him. And when not snapping at whomever he is speaking to, he is normally found brooding to himself in a lone corner. This is at least the perception one would get from casual observation. There is another side to the younger Fuji brother though. Yuuta is also actually a very delicate and kind soul. This is seen in how he trusts others to the point of dependence, for which the reason is probably that he is trying to find another older brother figure. Of course, this is later somewhat remedied when he rectifies his relationship with Syuusuke. Still, to say it simply, Yuuta has some issues to deal with. Though he'd chosen to forgive Mizuki, for example, it is likely that he still feels a little... disappointed by how things turned out. It isn't something one can easily forget after all.

So taking that perspective into consideration, I think that I'd play Yuuta somewhat dark as there is a sort of conflict with himself to my understanding. But on occasion, I believe that Yuuta is also a very fun character whom you could easily irritate-- in a good way. He is likely to find bouncy, overly hyper characters endearing; and see arrogant yet skillfull opponents as rivals. And yes, that leads us to tennis-- the one thing that he's got going for himself. It is perhaps in tennis where Yuuta can show the passion he so desperately tries to hide, which is why he is clearly going to take this camp seriously. Hmm.. I have no doubt though, that some of the other characters may be able to get him into his fair share of trouble as well.

As his mun, you definitely have my permission to do your worst. 8D

RP Sample:

Stiffly transferring his books to the small desk on his right, Yuuta's mouth widened with a nice loud yawn. There was, of course, no one else around to hear it. But he was still a vaguely annoyed with himself. How could he be so tired, really? The day was far from over. And he had so much things he wanted to do.

With a light frown, he contemplated; the excitement had probably gotten to him. His brows furrowed. He was not here to enjoy himself like some kid going on a field trip. He'd attended camp to train. And train, no matter how difficult it was, he would. And someday soon, he would definitely be able to defeat his brother.

"Aniki," he muttered out into the dimly lit room. It was an odd kind of relationship. Really, it was. He wasn't so sure anymore if they could go back to the way things had been. But that didn't mean he didn't like where he currently was either. As far as he knew, this rivarly had lead him on to bigger and brighter horizons. And in a way, he'd always be thankful. He supposed, with a bitter glow in his eyes, that all things happened for a reason.

With the brief knock on his door, Yuuta straightened his back and grabbed his racket, which had been lying almost as if impatient on the bed. Mizuki-san was probably waiting on the other side to see if he wanted to get started on his special menu, or whatever it was. A small smile curved his lips. If there was anyone who could take his mind off his brother, it was Mizuki-san.

Okay~ You may now twack me with something for making Yuuta appear OOC. I shall repent accordingly. 8D

Lovely application. And no, he isn't OOC. As long as you can justify why you intend to make him slightly dark, which you could in that application, it's realistic. Thank you for putting so much thought into this application. :)
