I was today at the mall, dealing with my cel phone company and its phone warranties. Anyway, as i was walking out i passed by the arcade I used to hang out in, just to reminisce of old times. I had seen some of the new games, but today i actually observed two teenagers, a girl and a boy, hop, skip, jump, and dance, to a game called, Pump it up. For all of you out there, from the atari/sega/nintendo generation like me, its a dance type simulator with floor pads where the kids follow the steps on the screen. It starts at easy levels and evolves to very, very complex ones. Boy did the generational shift, bitch slapped me, it hit home - BIG TIME; hehehe. I mean I own a ps2, finished final fantasyX and up, pretty good in Gran Turismo, if i say so myself, and played more complex games than those found in the arcades i grew up with , but gezz all the exercise i did was with my fingers and my jaw as i ate something. These kids played like if there was no tomorrow, and were sweating like if they were cross training. I'd probably, as shy as i was, never played the game if it were in my old arcade, as the spectacle generates quite an audience, but looking back maybe i'd be more in shape; hehehe.
Boy how the times have changed...
