what a nice day i had with the matt! we went into the city with his friend ron to see batalion of saints at cbgbs. we made a pit-stop in billburg for some overpriced vegan fast food and the "clebrity murders" show. we checked out our favorite "artists and fleas" market on north 6th and matt surprised me by buying this sweet little mirror which reads "te amo". *aawww*. to get to the cm show, we had to walk through a redman rap video taping which was...disturbing. monster turcks and monster hoochies. but, matt and i ended up not staying for the cm show because...it had a lame vibe. instead, we went into manhattan and got our matching bee tattoos from his friend ron (different ron). then we hit up the cbgbs show. batalion played REALLY well, but the crowd was lackluster. those who actually made it to the show were acting all jaded and disinterested (save a few kids who were OVERacting - "I AM A CRAZY PUNK ROCKER...RRRAAAAAHHH...LOOK AT ME FLAIL AROUND AND SPIT BEER ON MYSELF!"). oh well. these benefit shows have been a disappoint, in general. they are pricey and the crowds are kinda beat. the shows we REALLY REALLY want to go to are sold out, too. like these two:
9/9 $40
CIRCLE JERKS, ADOLESCENTS, D.I. , CHANNEL 3, ZERO BOYS, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN
9/10 $40
CIRCLE JERKS, D.I. , ADOLESCENTS, CHANNEL 3, ZERO BOYS, 45 GRAVE
*le sigh*
OH, and while we were in williamsburg, we found this weirdo curio cabinet on the sidewalk complete with bizarre figurines - as well as a large assortment of blown glass vegetables!
goodnight, kids.
