Project: Arm Knitting, initiated last night, is a success. I am now the proud owner of a screaming purple, arm-knitted cowl/scarf thing.

And I learned a lot, too:

- There is no place in my flat where you can take a decent picture after dark.

- Arm knitting works better blind than actual knitting because you can't lose track of the yarn since you are literally holding on to it.

- It takes more yarn than you think. Yes, more than that. A hundred meters barely (barely!) made a decent sized cowl and I had to get tricksy with sewing up the ends because I was out of rope, literally. Admittedly, I looped it and used two strand at once, but the gauge twelve yarn looked stringy when taken once. Twice looks much better.

- I kind of want to mass produce arm-knitted stuff because it's fun and it went by so fast.

- Best 13 bucks spent in a while. Shitty day saved.

- Not advisable with too long nails. I have random scratches in weird places on my hands now.

- Fast. So fast. I did the whole thing three times (too stringy, ran out of yarn, finally) and it took me less than Return of the King, non-extended version. If I'd done it right the first time around, it would have taken less than half an hour.

Tune back in later for Faithy's Adventure on Sock Knitting.

In other news: I think I'm getting used to the insane work load at, well, work. I am slowly but surely reclaiming my life.

real life, projects make me not bored, yarn monsters feed on your life
